Will Rock Springs Elementary be providing materials and devices to distance learners?
All distance learners will be given a copy of their student workbooks that may be needed for distance learning instruction. Laptops will be made available to those families in need. At this time, we must limit 1 device per family. Each family will need to complete a responsibility agreement form to obtain a laptop. If you have not picked up your materials and/or device for distance learning yet, please contact Mrs. Holland at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What programs/apps does my distance learner need on their device?
We recommend for your distance learner to use Google Chrome as their browser while they are distance learning. Google Chrome is the most user friendly browser for our learning management systems. However, you may use other browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc. and participate fully in distance learning. Google Chrome is available to download here
You will also need to have Zoom downloaded to your device for live streamed and/or pre-recorded lesson access. Zoom is available to download here
(Choose the first option: "Zoom Client for Meetings" download).
How does my child access distance learning resources?
Students will access their distance learning resources by logging into Clever. Once they log into Clever, students will be able to access our learning management system, Kiddom, by clicking on the Kiddom app. Kiddom will house all pre-recorded videos, online activities, and assessments for our distance learners.
to watch a quick video of how to access your student's Clever and Kiddom.
How does my child login to Clever?
On the RSE homepage (rse.rcschools.net),click on the Students tab and click Clever from the drop-down menu. Students will use their student username and password provided by the teacher to login. Be sure to include @student.rcschools.net when typing in the student's username.
What can I expect distance learning to look like typically?
Teachers will post ELA and Math instruction daily. Students are expected to interact with Kiddom throughout the week. The amount of time on Kiddom will vary from class to class depending on the assignments that the teacher has posted. More information about schedules, expectations, and curriculum for distance learners will be provided by the teacher.
What if I need technical support?
If you don't have your student's username and password, please contact their homeroom teacher.
